airbag code B0001-1A after old collision what should I check?

My 2018 Ford Escape got pretty banged up in a front-end collision last year. After getting it fixed, things seemed alright, but now it's showing a B0001-1A code: Driver Frontal Stage 1 Deployment Control Circuit Resistance Below Threshold

Has anyone seen this issue before? What should I check or test before I take it to the dealer? Thanks for any help

You should check the airbag connectors under the steering wheel, clockspring or wiring harness. You just need to make sure to disconnect the battery for at least 10-15 seconds before messing with connectors just so you can avoid any accidental deployment. If you don't have some knowledge of the airbag system you should find someone who is qualified and can handle it.

How did it pass inspection if that code's popping up now? It sounds like something wasn't fully reset or reconnected after the repair, I'd start with the clock spring or impact sensor wiring
