i drove my 2018 Ford Escape Titanium from Illinois to Florida with 68k miles. near the end the engine started acting up at idle and the check engine light came on. i didn't freak out since it wasn't flashing and booked a repair. the next morning i saw low coolant, overheating and white smoke from the tailpipe. it turns out tht ford knows about this problem. the coolant leaks into the engine block mixes with oil and cracks it. it needs a whole new engine. im battling ford for repairs now. it was a total disaster! there's a class action lawsuit starting. if this happened to you join it or better yet ditch that car fast! only hits ecoboost 2.0L engines. bad factory casting is likely the cause. there are tons of owners will face this mess eventually.
