Battery only lasts 2 years?

The auto-stop feature suddenly stopped functioning and so I did a bit of research and lead into changing the battery, local dealer also suggested the same thing so I went for it and had it replaced. After 2 years of not so much driving, the auto-stop feature again dropped and just suddenly stopped working again. Now im confused, does a new battery only last 2 years really or can it be something else?

yeah, a start-stop battery didn't really last long, there are a few reasons, like driving habits, faults in the electrical system, even bad battery maintenance like not charging the battery correctly and all.

If it's happening again so soon, it could be something else drawing power when the car's off or maybe the alternator isn't charging it fully. it could also be the battery itself. might be worth getting the charging system checked out by a different shop this time!

It's rare for a new battery to last only two years. It could be due to poor battery quality, not being fully charged from short trips, or an issue with the charging system. Have the system checked to ensure the auto-stop feature works properly

Huh... I misread and thought battery lasts only 2 hours. That's crazy.

Auto-stop issues are often tied to the battery, especially if the car hasnt been driven much, since low charge or poor battery health can disable the feature. A new battery can degrade faster with infrequent use, but it could also be something else like a SENSOR or system condition not being met. Might be worth getting the battery tested and checking for any fault codes.
