Escape can't restart a new battery

Went to the dealership to check my air con, it's fixed, but then they said I needed a battery change. I didn't want my car to break down in the middle of driving, so I changed it. they said to drive it around for 8 hours and then the BMS would reset automatically. somehow, it didn't happen. I went back to the dealership and had them reset the BMS with their scanner tool

Yes, the bms on newer ford models don't reset automatically. Sometimes driving for a long time can be helpful but often it requires a manual scan reset. you can also do it yourself with an obd2 scanner (if you don't have one it's a good idea to invest into one).

Yes, after a new battery is installed on many GM systems, the BMS requires a scanner reset.It is not consistently triggered by driving alone.Gettin it flashed was a smart move.

I heard this is a common issue with newer Fords, so annoying
you really need that manual BMS reset after a battery swap, driving around just doesn't cut it. Good on you for going back to the dealership
