reset battery monitor

The battery dies on me yesterday and no big deal, replaced it and thought I was gonna be on my way. Well i was on my way but the escape started panicking about the battery monitor which I tried to reset but it doesn't seem to be working. Anyone have the user manual to check if I followed the right procedure?

Try resetting the BMS on your Escape. You just need to turn the ignition key to on without starting the engine and then within 10 seconds, flash the high beam headlights 5 times! You know how to do that right? Anyway you also need to immediately press and release the brake pedal so there's that. Do that 3 times.

Don't panic about the manual just yet. other commentators are right, for a 2018 Escape with a new battery, the BMS usually requires a hard reset, but using a dealership level scanner or a compatible OBDII tool
Just driving around or simple manual steps often aren't enough to clear that monitor's 'panic

Just checking in since it's been a while. Did you end up getting the battery monitor reset properly? If the manual method didn't do the trick, a scan tool like Forscan usually clears it without fuss.
