Could water damage be causing this

After dealing with a low battery warning on my '20 Escape's key fob I realized it might've gotten some water damage recently. I replaced the battery but now I'm having trouble with inconsistent locking and unlocking and even the push button start is acting up. Is there a way to fix without getting a new fob?

That's a hassle!! I'm always told drying in desiccant like uncooked rice could work but it could also take a few days. I suggest you download the FordPass app so you can still use your SUV without the key fob!!

If you have noticed the water damage right away then it might have lessen the damage on the fob. For this aside from the advice above, at this point, I think you need to get the key fob replaced. Corrossion sets in quickly. it might have damaged the contact points in it

The logic is to get rid of the moist thats stuck inside, you have to open the key fob and dry it out with a blower or something

Thanks, everyone! Thought it was a meme hahaha but will try drying the fob with rice and using a blower to remove any moisture. If the issues persist replacing the fob might be the way to go. Have any of you had luck with DIY fob repairs or is replacement the only best solution? @CaptFord_33 @purplerain90 @johnniwalker
