Power steering issues 2019 Ford Escape

Our 2019 Ford Escape been having an issue with its power steering, basically... it's not working. I checked the fuse and its good. Since there's no pump on this car, I'm thinking it might be the EPAS module causing the problem. The issue is intermittent, so it seems like it's the module, not the torque sensor. Does anyone know exactly where the EPAS module is located?? Is it near the steering shaft or the rack and pinion? Also, im having trouble finding the part online under that name, am I searching for the wrong term here? The car has about 180k miles on her, and I'd like to keep it going for another 80-150k if possible, so any advice would be really appreciated.

The control module is part of the steering rack assembly itself so you will not find it sold separately. Before you replace the whole thing, I would get it scanned for steering specific codes. An intermittent problem can be a tricky thing to pin down without knowing what the computer saw.

I totally agre, it's frustrating how they make the control module part of the rack itself. And yeah thats the plan, I just wanted some actual people's opinion first before doing that. Thank you!

Yeah, thats spot on! Those naming differences can really throw you off when searching for parts or info. Ive seen it listed under a few different terms depending on the make. Out of curiosity, do you know if the motor and module can be tested separately, or is it all treated as a single unit when diagnosing faults?
